Seoul, officially the Seoul Special City, is the capital and largest city of South Korea. A mega city with a population of over 10 million, it is one of the largest cities in the world.

The Seoul National Capital Area is the world's second largest metropolitan area with over 24.5 million inhabitants, which includes the Incheon metropolis and most of Gyeonggi province.

Nami Island

Namiseom is a tiny half-moon shaped island located in Chuncheon, South Korea, formed as it was inundated by the rising water of the North Han River as the result of the construction of Cheongpyeong Dam in 1944. It has drawn 1.5 million visitors a year on average.

Dongdaemun Market

A major pulsepoint of the city since 1905, Dongdaemun Market may be the best place to go to get a genuine feel for everyday life in crazy Seoul. The market is simply gargantuan and covers 10 city blocks. Over 30,000 shops and 50,000 manufacturers call Dongdaemun home.

Jongmyo Shrine

Jongmyo is a Confucian shrine dedicated to the memorial services for the deceased kings and queens of the Korean Joseon Dynasty. According to UNESCO, the shrine is the oldest royal Confucian shrine preserved and the ritual ceremonies continue a tradition established since the 14th century. Such shrines existed during the Three Kingdoms of Korea period but only the shrines for the rulers of Joseon remain. The Jongmyo Shrine was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1995. National Museum of Korea

The National Museum of Korea is the flagship museum of Korean history and art in South Korea and is the cultural organization that represents Korea. Since its establishment in 1945, the museum has been committed to various studies and research activities in the fields of archaeology, history, and art, continuously developing a variety of exhibitions and education programs.

In October 2005, the museum opened in a new building in Yongsan Family Park in Seoul, South Korea. The museum contains over 220,000 pieces in its collection with about 13,000 pieces on display at one time. It displays relics and artifacts throughout six permanent exhibition galleries such as Archaeological Gallery, Historical Gallery, Fine Arts Gallery I, Donation Gallery, Fine Arts Gallery II, and Asian Art Gallery. It is the sixth largest museum in the world in terms of floor space, now covering a total of 137,201 square metres (1,480,000 sq ft).

Changdeokgung Palace Complex

Changdeokgung, also known as Changdeokgung Palace or Changdeok Palace, is set within a large park in Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It is one of the "Five Grand Palaces" built by the kings of the Joseon Dynasty. Because of its location east of Gyeongbok Palace, Changdeokgung, with Changgyeonggung, is also referred to as the East Palace. The literal meaning of Changdeokgung is "Palace of Prospering Virtue". War Memorial of Korea

Opened in 1994, the largely museum-like War Memorial of Korea in Yongsan-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea offers visitors an educational, yet emotional experience of the many wars in which Korea was involved. Many documents and war memorabilia have been collected and are displayed. The War Memorial has several display rooms and an outdoor exhibition center displaying military equipment. Gyeongbokgung Palace

Gyeongbokgung, also known as Gyeongbokgung Palace or Gyeongbok Palace, is a royal palace located in northern Seoul, South Korea. First constructed in 1394 and reconstructed in 1867, it was the main and largest palace of the Five Grand Palaces built by the Joseon Dynasty. Namsan Park

Namsan (lit. "South Mountain") is a 262-meter peak in the Jung-gu district of south central Seoul, South Korea. Although known as Mount Mongmyeok, in the past, it is now commonly referred to as Namsan. It offers some hiking, recreation and views of downtown Seoul's skyline. The N Seoul Tower is located on top of Namsan.

The mountain and surrounding area is a public park maintained by the city government. It is a popular spot for a panoramic view of Seoul. It is also the location of a smoke signal station called Mongmyeoksan Bongsudae' (Mongmyeoksan Beacon Tower), which was part of an emergency communication system during early times until 1985.

Dongdaemun & Namdaemun

Dongdaemun known as Dongdaemun Market includes upmarket shopping districts as well as several underground shops, stalls and markets that are open for much of the day. It has grown into the largest shopping center in South Korea. In 2007, the City of Seoul started Dongdaemun Design Project (DDP), to renovate what used to be Dongdaemun Stadium (an amateur baseball park). With world-famous architect Zaha Hadid's design, when completed this structure is expected to be one of the most notable landmarks in downtown Seoul.

Namdaemun Market is a large traditional market in Seoul, South Korea. The market is located next to Namdaemun, the "Great South Gate," which was the main southern gate to the old city

Cheongjechong River

This used to be a highway, until the city officials tore down the highway, re-routed the traffic and replaced it with a canal. Before the highway, it used to ba a river with slums beside it. Hugely popular with the locals, the river is worth a visit.

DMZ

The Korean Demilitarized Zone is a strip of land running across the Korean Peninsula that serves as a buffer zone between North and South Korea. The DMZ cuts the Korean Peninsula roughly in half, crossing the 38th parallel on an angle, with the west end of the DMZ lying south of the parallel and the east end lying north of it. It is 250 kilometres long, approximately 4 km (2.5 mi) wide and is the most heavily militarized border in the world. The Northern Limit Line, or NLL, is the de facto maritime boundary between North and South Korea in the Yellow Sea and the coastline and islands on both sides of the NLL are also heavily militarized.

The De-Militarized Zone at the border of North and South Korea allows you peeks into the barren North Korea. There is also a tunnel that you could walk and climb. Strongly recommended. Technically, they are still at war.

Insadong

Insadong is a dong, or neighborhood of the Jongno-gu district of the South Korean city of Seoul. The main street is Insadong-gil, which is connected to a multitude of alleys that lead deeper into the district. At one time it was the largest market for antiques and artworks in Korea. Highly recommended, Insadong brings you back to "old Korea". The shops there are mainly "cultural shops" and sell things like traditional costumes, or avant garde mock traditional costumes. Insadong is about nostalgia. Oh, and there is the only Starbucks in the world in non-english!

COEX Mall

COEX Mall is across the street from Bongeunsa Temple but could not be more dissimilar. The behemoth underground mall provides a perfect glimpse into hyper-modern Korea. Seoul is a city on the cusp of every digital and technological trend and COEX Mall is a wonderful vantage point from which to take it all in. Bring comfortable shoes however. The mall features over 250 commercial shops, 800 restaurants, a multiplex, aquarium, Kimchi Field Museum, Game Park and receives over 100,000 visitors on weekdays

1 Musée du Louvre
Louvre Museum or simply the Louvre — is one of the world's largest museums, the most visited art museum in the world and a historic monument. It is a central landmark of Paris and located on the Right Bank of the Seine in the 1st arrondissement (district). Nearly 35,000 objects from prehistory to the 19th century are exhibited over an area of 60,600 square meters.

4.Musée d'Orsay
The Musée d'Orsay is a museum in Paris, France, on the left bank of the Seine, housed in the former railway station, the Gare d'Orsay, an impressive Beaux-Arts edifice built between 1898 and 1900. It holds mainly French art dating from 1848 to 1915, including paintings, sculptures, furniture, and photography, and is probably best known for its extensive collection of impressionist and post-impressionist masterpieces (the largest in the world) by such painters such as Monet, Manet, Degas, Renoir, Cézanne, Seurat, Gauguin and Van Gogh. Many of these works were held at the Galerie nationale du Jeu de Paume prior to the museum's opening in 1986.

5.The Sorbonne and the Latin Quarter
The Sorbonne University is the historic soul of the Latin Quarter, where higher learning has flourished for centuries. Founded in 1257 for a small group of theology students, the Sorbonne is one of Europe's oldest universities. It has hosted countless great thinkers, including philosophers René Descartes, Jean-Paul Sartre, and Simone de Beauvoir. Enjoy a drink on the café terrace in front of the college before exploring the winding little streets of the Latin Quarter behind it.

6.Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Elysées
The 164-foot Arc de Triomphe commissioned by Emperor Napoléon I does exactly what it was made to do: evoke sheer military power and triumph. It was built in an age when leaders erected monuments in their own honor, and scaled to their egos. The arch's beautiful sculptures and reliefs commemorate Napoléon's generals and soldiers. Visit the Arc de Triomphe to begin or culminate a walk down the equally grandiose Avenue des Champs-Elysées.

7.Centre Georges Pompidou and the "Beaubourg" Neighborhood

Centre Georges Pompidou also known as the Pompidou Centre in English) is a complex in the Beaubourg area of the 4th arrondissement of Paris, near Les Halles, rue Montorgueil and the Marais. It was designed in the style of high-tech architecture.

It houses the Bibliothèque publique d'information, a vast public library, the Musée National d'Art Moderne which is the largest museum for modern art in Europe, and IRCAM, a centre for music and acoustic research. Because of its location, the Centre is known locally as Beaubourg. It is named after Georges Pompidou, the President of France from 1969 to 1974 who decided its creation, and was officially opened on 31 January 1977 by then-French President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing. The Centre Pompidou has had over 150 million visitors since 1977.

8.Basilique du Sacré Cœur
With its unmistakeable white dome, the Sacre Coeur sits at the highest point of Paris on the Montmartre knoll, or butte. This basilica, which was consecrated in 1909, is best-known for its garish gold mosaic interiors and for its dramatic terrace.
Take the funicular up with a metro ticket and stop off at Sacre Coeur before exploring the winding, village-like streets of Montmartre. And after expending all your energy climbing Montmartre's formidable hills and stairs, consider a traditional Parisian cabaret at the legendary Moulin Rouge.

9.Père Lachaise Cemetery
Père Lachaise Cemetery is the largest cemetery in the city of Paris, France (48 ha, 118.6 acres), though there are larger cemeteries in the city's suburbs. Père Lachaise is one of the most famous cemeteries in the world. Located in the 20^th arrondissement, it is reputed to be the world's most-visited cemetery, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually to the graves of those who have enhanced French life over the past 200 years. It is also the site of three World War I memorials.

Terlebih dahulu sy ingin mengucapkan kpd DSAI selaku tuan rumah dan AIC yang merupakan penganjur.

Sy telah dijemput menghadiri majlis berbuka puasa bersama DSAI di kediaman beliau. Ini merupakan aktiviti yang julung-julung kali diadakan oleh AIC. Pada asalnya majlis ini sepatutnya diadakan di pejabat AIC tetapi telah ditukarkan dan diawalkan atas permintaan DSAI.

Kebanyakan yang hadir adalah merupakan golongan muda dan pelajar IPT. Kepentingan dan kesedaran golongan muda adalah penting dalam menbangunan negara pada masa akan datang.

6.20, majlis dimulakan dengan kata-kata aluan oleh presiden AIC(baju hitam) dan ucapan ringkas daripada DSAI. Seterusna sesi perkenalan ahli-ahli AIC. DSAI memulakan dialog dengan membuka kepada ahli untuk memberikan pertanyaan. Sy mengambil kesempatan bertanyakan soalan mengenai ekonomi negara.

Setelah azan maghrib berkumandang, kami berbuka puasa beramai ramai bersama DSAI

Kami solat maghrib, Isyak dan Tarawih berjemaah di kediaman DSAI bersama beliau. Ini adalah merupakan pengalaman pertama sy sebagai ahli AIC.

Kemuncak acara pada malam tersebut adalah sesi dialog bersama DSAI di ruang tamu rumah beliau.

DSAI memulakan bicara dengan menceritakan penulis dan pemikir Islam pada suatu ketika dahulu yg sy sendiri tidak pernah dengar nama-nama tersebut. Namun begitu sy tetap tertarik dengan idea pemikir2 tersebut. Seterusnya DSAI menceritakan pengalaman beliau sebagai pelajar.

Dalam sesi dialog ini, pelbagai soalan diajukan kepada DSAI. Kesempatan ini juga sy dapat mengemukakan lagi soalan kepada DSAI. Sy berpuas hati dengan jawapan beliau.
Pengalaman menyertai aktiviti AIC ini tidak akan sy lupakan. Insyallah sy akan menyertai lagi aktiviti-aktiviti AIC pada masa akan datang.

Semoga MALAYSIA BARU dan pelbagai PERUBAHAN akan berjaya dilaksanakan oleh DSAI.

House@Shah Alam

Shah Alam is a most wonderful city that i lived since 1999. I was only 18 that time. House@Shah alam is a compilation stories about a house that i lived at Shah Alam from 2000 to 2009.

Apartment (macam lah) at Section 18 Shah Alam is a 1st house that i rent and my life started there. This apartment is the longest period of time that i lived, from 2000 to 2004. Excluded in 2001 i was in UiTM Perlis. I one part that i don;t like about his apartment is.... 5th Floor.There's a lot of memories with my friends which is we're all together since secondary school at Keningau, Sabah. That house like a reunion place in a weekend for all Sabahan. My Friends Alvin, Atan, Ruther, Gedg, Wan, Benny, Aaron, Peter, Charles shared all those memories.
Apartment @Section 7, Shah Alam and also at the 5th floor. I've only in that rent at the apartment for about 5 months. My housemate is also my classmate..all male student from my class for Diploma in Geomatic Science. After that, I returned to my previous apartment at Section 18 (1st apartment) until i was graduated my diploma.
This is my 3rd house. The environment is too peacefully and quite. I started my career as a surveyor since i was lived there and 2 semester of my degree in UiTM. I was resign as a surveyor to continues my studies in Bachelor of Geomatic Science and it is a brilliant decision that a ever made. I was there for about 1 1/2 years.

Corner house but the house is too hot and i always sleep at the living room. The condition is not really good. what ever, this is my 4th house. I lived there my two of may best friends, Pak Lah and Ian. The bad memories for me in this house that I lost 2 of my cellphone in the same time..my 6600 and Samsung True Eye. My friend, Ian also lost his SE K800i which is he's bought it for only 2 months. I only lived there for about 1 year because the owner want his house back. I must moved again..huhu. I was lived in this house until i graduated my degree.

5th house but the house number is 6. Now.. this is my current house until the end of this month. The condition is near superb compared to the previous house that i lived in Shah Alam. I love this house. My Housemate is Pak Lah and Pak Ya. Thankfully to Pak Lah that helps me a lot. Pak Ya also very nice person that i ever know. He teach me how to cook, helps me in a gym as a personal trainer (walaupun free..huhu) and he's a good barber. Thank you for helping me every month to cut my hair. He also teach me how to cut a hair (hanya dpt 30% dari ilmu pak ya nie..).

Next month, April. I will move from Shah Alam for the 1st time. It is sad but life goes on. I'm looking forward to live in a new place and the new environment...

Suatu pagi yang dingin, terjadilah satu perbualan antara seorang guru falsafah dan pelajarnya...

pelajar: guru, apakah erti cinta..?bagaimanakah saya boleh mendapatkannya...?

guru: ada sebuah ladang gandum yang luas didepan sana. berjalanlah kamu dan jangan sesekali kamu berundur. kemudian ambillah satu ranting. sekiranya kamu mendapati ranting tersebut sangat menakjubkan, ertinya kamu telah menemui cinta.

pelajar tersebut pun berjalan dan tidak berapa lama dia kembali dengan tangan yang kosong.

guru bertanya: mengapa kamu tidak membawa sebatang ranting pun...?

pelajar menjawab: saya hanya terpaksa memilih satu ranting saja, dan sewaktu berjalan saya tidak boleh mengundur kebelakang semula. sebenarnya saya telah berjumpa dengan satu ranting yang paling menakjubkan tapi saya tak tahu apakah yang akan menakjubkan di hadapan sana nanti, maka saya biarkan ranting itu lalu saya dapati tidak ada lagi ranting yang paling menakjubkan selain daripada yang saya lihat tadi. jadi saya tidak mengambil sebatang pun akhirnya.

gurunya menjawab: ye, itu lah cinta...

dihari lainnya pula pelajar tersebut bertanya kepada gurunya, apa itu perkahwinan...?

guru: ada hutan yang subur didepan sana. berjalanlah kamu. tapi janganlah kamu sesekali mengundur kebelakang. tebanglah sepohon pokok saja. dan tebanglah jika kamu merasakan bahawa pohon tersebut adalah yang paling cantik,segar dan tinggi, kerana kamu telah menemukan apa itu perkahwinan.

pelajar tersebut pun berjalan, dan tidak berapa lama, dia datang semula dengan membawa sepohon kayu, walaupun pohon tersebut tidaklah berapa segar, cantik dan tinggi pada pandangan guru tersebut.

maka gurunya pun bertanya: mengapa kamu memotong pohon seperti ini....?

pelajar itu menjawab: sebab, berdasarkan pengalaman ku sebelum ini, aku hanya berjalan separuh daripada hutan tersebut dan aku takut akan kembali dengan tangan kosong. jadi saya mengambil kesempatan menebang pohon ini lalu dibawa kesini. pada pandangan saya ianya adalah pohon yang terbaik buat saya. saya tidak mahu kehilangannya atau menyesal kerana tidak memilihnya...

This is my new office and also new environment of work. I was too busy since i joined this company but i love this kind of jobs.. Company provided to me a PC and lappy which is need to be carried to the meeting to show 'them' what GIS is all about.

My post as a Research & Consultancy Executive is more like a project manager. I've to handle all the client needs, attending meeting, doing a GIS analysis and also make sure that I can deliver the end product to the client at the 'right time'.

Rumput dan Kasih Sayang

Pada suatu pagi di satu sekolah menengah, ada seorang pelajar bertanya pada seorang guru yang sedang mengajar. Ketika itu, guru tersebut sedang menyentuh mengenai kasih dan sayang secara am. Dialog di antara pelajar dan guru tersebut berbunyi begini :

Pelajar : Cikgu, macam mana kita nak pilih seseorang yang terbaik sebagai orang paling kita sayang?. Macam mana juga kasih sayang itu nak berkekalan?

Cikgu : Oh, awak nak tahu ke?.Emmm...baiklah, sekarang kamu buat apa yang saya suruh. Ikut je ye...mungkin kamu akan dapat apa jawapannya.

Pelajar : Baiklah...apa yang saya harus buat?

Cikgu : Kamu pergi ke padang sekolah yang berada di luar kelas sekarang juga. Kamu berjalan di atas rumput di situ dan sambil memandang rumput di depan kamu, pilih mana yang PALING cantik tanpa menoleh ke belakang lagi walaupun sekali. Dan kamu petiklah rumput yang PALING cantik yang berada di depan kamu tersebut dan selepas itu bawa balik ke kelas.

Pelajar : Ok. Saya pergi sekarang dan buat apa yang cikgu suruh.

Apabila pelajar tersebut balik semula ke kelas, tiada pun rumput yang berada di tangannya. Maka cikgu pun bertanya kepada pelajar tersebut.

Cikgu : Mana rumput yang cikgu suruh petik?

Pelajar : Oh, tadi saya berjalan di atas rumput dan sambil memandang rumput yang berada di situ, saya carilah rumput yang paling cantik. Memang ada banyak yang cantik tapi cikgu kata petik yang paling cantik maka saya pun terus berjalan ke depan sambil mencari yang paling cantik tanpa menoleh ke belakang lagi. Tapi sampai di penghujung padang , saya tak jumpa pun yang paling cantik. Mungkin ada di antara yang di belakang saya sebelum itu tapi dah cikgu cakap tak boleh menoleh ke belakang semula, jadi tiadalah rumput yang saya boleh petik.

Cikgu : Ya, itulah jawapannya. Maknanya, apabila kita telah berjumpa dengan seseorang yang kita sayang, janganlah kita hendak mencari lagi yang lebih baik daripada itu. Kita patut hargai orang yang berada di depan kita sebaik-baiknya. Janganlah kita menoleh ke belakang lagi kerana yang berlaku tetap dah berlaku. Dan semoga yang berlalu tidak lagi berulang. Jika kita berselisih faham dengan orang yang kita sayang itu, kita boleh perbetulkan keadaan dan cuba teruskan perhubungan tersebut walaupun banyak perkara yang menggugat perhubungan tersebut. Dan ingatlah orang yang kita sayang itulah kita jumpa paling cantik dan paling baik pada MULAnya walaupun nak ikutkan banyak lagi yang cantik dan baik seperti rumput tadi. KECUALILAH jika perhubungan tersebut tak boleh diselamatkan lagi, maka barulah kita mulakan sekali lagi. Maka sayangilah orang yang berada di depan kita dengan tulus dan ikhlas.

January - The 1st month of of every year. There are a lot things in this month that has happen to me and to my life.

The first 2 weeks of January is quite boring for me. i still live in that rural area that i mention in the previous post. Every single day, my mind can't stop to think the solution how to resolve this big problem that happen in my life. My mental..my feeling is 'not good'.

16/01/09 was a great day for me in this month. It is my 1st oversea holiday for 2009 and hopefuly i can go somewhere else this year. I'm going to Bandung, Indonesia with a group of my friends. This is my 1st to go there. Bandung is a shopping paradise, everything is so cheap and that make me want to buy every single things. I want to repeat this holiday. 3 days is too short, i need 1 week at least. Bandung..wait for me

19/01/09 I was returned to this lovely country, Malaysia. The special about this date is my 1st interview for this year. Guess, the location?... is in KL.. i repeat..Kuala Lumpur. Every going just fine during that interview and the result is the director of the company wants me to join asap. The night of this day also the 1st time for me to write what we say..love letter (resignation letter) for my my former company.

What i can is, January is a interesting month for me. My work is up side down for starting but everything is gonna be fine in this coming February. i feel so relief. Now, the most important me to do is to prepare myself with a new environment of work and also the new challenge. I'm looking forward to it. February..here i come..

Cristiano Ronaldo has added the 2008 FIFA World Player of the Year award to his impressive collection of individual honours.
The Manchester United superstar struggled to hold back the tears as he paid an emotional tribute to his team-mates and family.

Ronaldo, 23, said: “This is a unique moment for me. I’d like to dedicate this to my father, my mother, my brothers and sisters.

“To my mother and my sisters I’d like to say you can now light up the fireworks. I’d also like to thank my team-mates.”

Ronaldo became the first Premier League ace to win the award since its launch 18 years ago.

He also won the European Footballer of the Year award after a remarkable season in which he scored 42 goals in 49 games. He led United to a Premier and Champions League double.

Ronaldo added: “The past year was something great but winning this award adds a very special something to that.”

He had earlier hailed United boss Alex Ferguson as the man behind his success.

15/12/08 - Jempol, N.S.D.K. I was transferred to the site office@Jempol which is about 150km from my current house at Shah Alam. The main town is Bahau with all the important facilities..bank, econsave, hawker center etc. It's about 15km from Bandar Sri Jempol(my office)..too far huh...It's about 2hours and 30 minutes from Shah Alam.
The company was provided us(me and my partner) a beautiful semi-D house for free. But nothing inside the except wall fan and the lamp. The house is nothing compare the my house here.

As a conclusion, Jempol is a good place to live. U still can feel the cold and clean air at 8pm.

But, this place is not suitable for me in the young age to live this kind of place. I was in the Klang Valley from 1999 to 2008...the traffic jam, crowded people, every step is fastest...suddenly i was a the place where all the movement..time..step is too slow. I can became a slowest person in my age if i don't move on a.s.a.p

The food and everything here is too expensive and more expensive compare to my shah alam. How a can save money here..no way i think.

The workload..jobs..everything is too easy for me. What i can say is..if i give my work to a UPSR boy, they can finish it so easily.. except i earned a good salary with that job. I don't how during my i-view they said i can learn a lot of things here. Money is important nowadays, but my happiness is more important. Every single working days..5 days a week i need to face this kind of problem...huhu. It's waste for time, knowledge and qualification. But there's no more challenge for me anymore. I know my capabilities, I can do more than that. It's time to go. I will return to my lovely Klang Valley in the short time, believe me. I can do it.

Now, i need to update my resume and enter the world of job hunting. 2009, here i came...to a new chapter of life...my career. Alwayz be ready to i-view.

LONDON - HAPPINESS is infectious and can 'ripple' through social groups such as family and friends - but work colleagues are apparently immune to each other's moods, according to a study published on Friday.

The effect creates 'clusters' of happy and unhappy people, both socially and in geographical terms, said the study, stressing that contentment 'is not merely the province of isolated individuals'.

But while the mood of neighbours and friends can have more impact on people than that of live-in partners, work colleagues are not affected by a happy person in their midst, said the study in the British Medical Journal.

'Changes in individual happiness can ripple through social networks and generate large scale structure in the network, giving rise to clusters of happy and unhappy individuals,' said the study's authors.

'Most important from our perspective is the recognition that people are embedded in social networks and that the health and well-being of one person affects the health and well-being of others.

'Human happiness is not merely the province of isolated individuals,' added the study, by Professor Nicholas Christakis of Harvard Medical School and Professor James Fowler of the University of California, San Diego.

According to the study, geography can affect happiness: if you have a friend who becomes happy and lives within a mile (1.6 km), it will increase your likelihood of being happy by 25 per cent.

They found that live-in partners who become happy increase the likelihood of their partner being happy by 8 per cent; happy siblings living nearby boost joy levels by 14 per cent, and neighbours by 34 per cent.

'Work colleagues did not affect happiness levels, suggesting that social context may curtail the spread of emotional states,' said the study.

In an editorial accompanying the study, Professor Andrew Steptoe of University College, London and Professor Ana Diez Roux of the University of Michigan School of Public Health, called it 'groundbreaking'.

'If happiness is indeed transmitted through social connections, it could indirectly contribute to the social transmission of health, and has serious implications for the design of policies and interventions,' they said.

The study was based on research involving 5,124 adults aged 21-70, followed between 1971 and 2003.

To assess happiness they were asked to agree or disagree with four statements: 'I felt hopeful about the future', 'I was happy', 'I enjoyed life', 'I felt that I was just as good as other people'.

Happiness was defined as a maximum positive agreement with all four statements.

Some people may be thinking the Ballon d'Or is just another award for Cristiano Ronaldo, the latest in a long line of trophies recognising his astonishing achievements last season.

In the last seven months, he's been named PFA Player of the Year, Football Writers' Player of the Year and FIFPro World Player of the Year. But this one caps the lot. Ronny appears to be genuinely thrilled to win this, the most prestigious individual honour in world football.

I'm delighted for him. It would have been ludicrous if he had been pipped to the award by Lionel Messi or Fernando Torres, both of whom enjoyed successful seasons but were not as consistently devastating as Ronaldo.

And let's not forget that in being heralded as the world's greatest player by 77 out of the 96 journalists on the voting panel for the France Football magazine gong, Ronaldo joins a very distinguished list indeed.

The last three United winners were George Best (1968), Bobby Charlton (1965) and Denis Law (1964). After scoring a phenomenal 42 goals in the 2007/08 Double triumph, perhaps Ronaldo has already assured he will be mentioned in the same breath as that trio in years to come.

But one way for him to guarantee that is to ignore overtures from the continent, stay at this great club and continue to torment opposition defences for many more seasons.

"This is one that I want to win again because it is so good," Ronaldo said after scooping the award. "Therefore, I will wake and I will say to myself 'I want to be even better'." Let's hope he fulfills that ambition in a United shirt.

It’s about time United beat City, and Sunday’s win was wholly merited after an excellent performance at Eastlands.

On the bus from town before the game I had to sit quietly and listen to all of City fans’ giddy pontificating and anti-United songs. Personally, there’s something I dislike about the term ‘bragging rights’, but if there is such a privilege it certainly lies with Reds in offices or on factory floors across Manchester today.

Last season saw our loveable neighbours do the double over United for the first time during Sir Alex's reign – the first defeat at the City of Manchester Stadium was completely undeserved after the Reds dominated the match, the second at Old Trafford was no doubt affected by the emotion of the 50th anniversary of the Munich air disaster.

'Time to put it right' was the attitude in the away end – and on the pitch, too. United completely dominated the first half. City’s muted supporters were reduced to cheering the odd throw-in or tackle won. I couldn’t even see who’d scored the goal when Rooney poked the ball home from Carrick’s saved shot.

In the second half the Reds weathered the inevitable spell of pressure from the home side, and battled through when Ronaldo got sent off in the game’s talking point. I thought a red card was inevitable with the way Howard Webb refereed the game. Derbies aren’t ordinary matches, and should be recognised as such. Start dishing out yellow cards left, right and centre and you disrupt the game’s flow, get players and fans agitated and you set a precedent - the only way to be consistent is to keep giving out yellow cards.

Ronaldo’s first booking simply wasn’t a foul - he got the ball - and Rafael’s booking, the first of the afternoon, was another case in point. He’s an 18-year-old lad playing in his first Derby. Yes, OK he threw the ball away, but just speak to him, tell him to calm down and get on with the game. Next time, you’ll go in the book.

Webb consistently got it wrong all afternoon – even at the end he gave a throw-in for United that should have gone to City, then seconds later gave a throw to City when it should have been United’s. Fortunately it didn’t contrive to deny United of a fully deserved victory, and Ronny misses Blackburn in the Carling Cup – a game he may well not have played in anyway.
Darren Fletcher, Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov were all excellent for the Reds. In comparison, United fans finished the game singing “where was Robinho?” after the also impressive Rafael largely kept his countryman as quiet as his team's supporters.

The Blues may have added a few 0s to their bank account, but it’s still United that boast the wealth of talent. And where as City released their season review DVD last term celebrating their derby double, United move on from these victories looking at the wider picture: chasing the title.

5) Kicking Out Drummer Steven Adler For Doing Too Many Drugs: This is pretty amazing. Adler should probably be considered the "ultimate" member if he actually forced the other guys to draw the line and get rid of him because he was doing too many drugs. Was there a rule in the band that you could only pass out once during a performance?

4) Izzy Stradlin: Sure, Axl and Slash were the focal point. And Duff looked pretty solid standing there all tall and proud with the bass, but the word has always been that it's Izzy Stradlin's songwriting that brought this band to their true heights. And let's face it, you can look the part, you can buy the loudest amps, you can hire the coolest art department and you can come up with the best song titles, but if you don't have the songs you're just another lousy band with a tireless publicity company backing you.

DAY 1:
They watched their first movie together & were both touched in the romantic film.

and she tried to touch Daniel's hand but by accident she touched someone else and they both laughed..

They saw a fortune teller down the road and asked for their future.

Jasmine invited Daniel to go to the hill and they saw a meteor... Jasmine mumbled something .

They rode on a bus and because of the bumpy road, Jasmine gave her first kiss to Daniel by accident.

20 minutes later ... a stranger approached Jasmine.

Stranger : A reckless drunken dr! ever ran over Daniel & he is critical in the hospital ..

The doctor came out from the emergency room & handed out an apple juice & a letter to Jasmine.

Doctor : We found this in Daniel's pocket.

Jasmine read the letter which says:

24/09/2008 - I was invited by my best friend, Maika to break fasting by her company @ KL Convention Centre which is next to Suria KLCC.
All the food is extra delicious and marvellous, that all that i can describe. My all time favorite which tiger prawn is very fresh and special, hehe.
The buffet concept is good. There are a lot of choice from kuih muih and many more.
All you can eat, hahaha. There are a kambing bakar, cucur udang, laksa, steamboat, sup ekor, ayam tandoori, roti john, satey, pelbagai lauk pauk, kuih muih, aiskrim, ABC and many more. (A lot of food)....
A give 5 stars for all the food. Thanks Maika...

20/09/2008. I was joined GTi Club (www.satriagticlub.com.my) break-fasting program at Gerai Hj. Musa, Alai, Melaka.

It's about 1hr 20mnts from Sg. Besi to Malacca via PLUS highway.
We all stop at Ayer Keroh Petronas to wait others GTi member from Johore.

Gerai Hj. Musa is one of the popular stall in Alai.
There are a lot of food. Jenahak Bakar, Siakap 3 rasa, sotong goreng tepung, udang bakar, kupang sambal and ketam majerin
I give 5 stars to the program and all the food. Congratulation and thank you my friend, Gedg.

45th Malaysia Day@MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya

16 September 1963 is a Malaysia Day.

Last night, I was celebrated 45th Malaysia Day/National Day at MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya. This event was organized by the state government of Selangor.
Everyone was break-fasting in the stadium and it was prepared by the Quality Hotel, Shah Alam. After that, we all were praying Maghrib, Isyak and tarawikh together with Dato’ Mentri Besar, Tan Sri Khalid and Gombak MP, Azmin Ali. For the first time in my life, we all praying together in the middle of the stadium.

The speakers for the event is Chief Minister of Penang, Mentri Besar Selangor, Leader of DAP, Secretary General of PAS and the most waited and the climax for Malaysia Day is the our great leader which is DSAI.
It's about 20'000 Malaysian in the stadium to celebrate the 45th Malaysia Day. I’m proud to be Malaysia, proud to be one of them and also proud to be a witness for the historic moment in the Malaysia history.

Yesterday, I was break-fasting with two of my old friend, Gedg and Alvin. This the 1st time we are having dinner together for about 2 years.
It's good to remember the old stories. Gedg and Alvin is one of my good friend since we are in secondary school in Keningau, Sabah. We always playing, hang out, and spend our time together especially after SPM.
Yuan Steamboat is the one famous steamboat in sunway. You just only pay for RM19.80 and eat-all-your-can or makan sampai muntahlah hehe. It's good especially for break fasting hehe. There are a lot of variety seafood and the most expensive one is the tiger prawn annd crabs (I eat it a lot ...u know a LOT). But the all time favorite is the honey chicken wings (everyone have to Q) Thanks to Alvin coz have a enough courage to Q for us, hehe.

Murtabak ayam&daging the best in Shah Alam, located at Bazaar Ramadan PKNS Complex, Shah Alam. I have to Q for about 10 minutes to buy just only 2 pieces of murtabak. For the records, they have started this murtabak business since 2004 and now it's 4 times in the row for ramadan. The famous quote that anyone could recognize this stall is "murtabak ayam&daging, Telur Ayam di basuh". But due to the increasing of many product in the market, the price of this famous murtabak is also increase from RM1.70 to RM2.50 but still many people in Shah Alam want to buy it. Wanna try?
